Le neuvieme Showcase Meltinglive.TV s’est déroulé sous le soleil du pays d’Othe le samedi 17 juin avec Tucker Zimmerman qui vient de sortir son double album "NIGHTSHIFT TRIO"

Pour cette neuvième émission de télévision "DE NOTES EN OTHE", Tucker Zimmerman nous a fait l’immense plaisir de venir de Belgique où il réside actuellement. C’est Marie-claire, sa femme, qui a assuré le voyage, soit 5 heures de route, un vrai calvaire pour Tucker qui n’est pas un adepte de la voiture mais un passionné de vélo surtout sur les petites routes de Belgique. Une véritable source d’inspiration nous a confié Tucker.
Nous avons découvert un personnage hors du temps qui vit sa passion pour l’écriture, la poésie et la musique à chaque seconde. C’est un homme très sensible qui a eu un parcours de vie exceptionnellement mouvementé. En effet, Parti de Californie où il est né, il n’a cessé de parcourir les 4 coins de l’Europe. Tucker garde un merveilleux souvenir de l’Italie, de Rome surtout. C’est là qu’il à consacré 2 années à l’écriture de plus de 300 chansons avant de commencer un long périple de 15 ans, où il a chanté ses propres chansons et enregistré 6 albums ce qui lui vaut le nom de « Songpoet »
Lorsque Tucker prend sa guitare, on sait ou cela commence mais pas quand cela va fini, il enchaîne, pour notre plus grand plaisir chansons sur chansons, et lorsqu’il se trompe, préfère jouer un autre morceau plutôt que de recommencer. Nous avons eu ainsi la chance d’écouter une douzaine de titres tant de son nouvel album que de ses compositions précédentes dont un blues exceptionnel « Bag of Blues ». Merci Tucker pour tous ces moments magiques si gentiment offert, avec tant de sincérité et de douceur.
Aujourd’hui Tucker se produit le plus souvent en trio avec Quanah son fils guitariste et Jeff Van Cool, contrebassiste.et forme le groupe NIGHTS HIFT TRIO.

The ninth meltinglive.TV showcase took place in the sunny « Othe » country on Saturday June 17 with Tucker Zimmerman who released 2 CD’s in 2005. « Chautauqua » in May and a double CD with his Nightshift Trio in October. For this ninth TV program of ’De Notes En Othe’, Tucker came to us from Belgium where he is living. Marie-Claire, his wife, drove himdown, a tiresome journey for him, through heavy truck traffic which he is not fond of. His favourite way of travelling is his bicycle with which he travels hundreds of country roads. he told us it is also a constant source of inspiration to him. We have discovered an »out of our time » character who lives his passion for writing, poetry and music every moment of his days He is a very sensitive man whose journey through life has been quite eventful. Since he left California where he was born he has been travelling all over Europe. He keeps a very special memory of Rome where he lived for 2 years and where he wrote over 300 songs and started singing in public which he went on doing for the next 15 years while recording 6 LP’s.He was called « songpoet ». When Tucker picks up his guitar you know when he starts but not when he’ll end. He links up song after song for our greatest pleasure and if by chance he is not entirely satisfied with his playing or singing, he prefers to do another song rather than to start the same one again. That’s how we had the pleasure to hear a good dozen songs-some from his new CD as well as old songs among which a great blues called « Bag Of Blues ». Thank you Tucker for all those magical moments offered to us with such sincerity and gentleness.Nowadays Tucker performs most of the time with his ’Nightshift Trio’ (Quanah his son on guitars and Jeff Van Gool on stand up bass)

22 H SAMEDI SOIR UN CADEAU DE TUCKER

L’album WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE BLUES en TRIO enregistré en 2003 avec son fils Quanah ( guitare acoustiue, éléctrique et lap steel) et Jeff Van Gool (contrebasse). Les textes riches de poésie et d’humour, s’appuient sur des mélodies et des arrangements qui créent dans cet album une atmosphère unique de blues poésie.
